Editorial Policy

Leshai is a Canadian publication about culture, media and society. This policy explains how we develop, edit and disclose our work.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This page is provided for general information and does not replace advice from a qualified lawyer. Leshai may update this page as its services and legal obligations change.

Our purpose

Leshai publishes original journalism, criticism, reviews, recommendations and conversations about the ideas, media and everyday habits shaping contemporary life. We aim to be thoughtful without being vague, stylish without being shallow and curious without pretending to have every answer.

Authorship and accountability

Every article is credited to the person responsible for its reporting, writing or editorial contribution. Editors may shape headlines, structure, captions and presentation, but the credited author remains identified on the published page.

We do not publish anonymous work unless there is a compelling public-interest reason and the editor-in-chief approves it. Leshai is responsible for the work it publishes and welcomes good-faith questions about accuracy or fairness.

Reporting, sources and fact-checking

We aim to verify names, dates, quotations, links, statistics and other factual details before publication. Where a claim depends on research, a study, public record or another source, we aim to identify or link to that source when practical.

Opinion, criticism and personal interpretation are identified through context and voice. They are not presented as independently verified fact. We do not knowingly publish fabricated quotations, invented sources or material copied from another publication without attribution and permission where required.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader value and journalistic purpose. Advertisers, sponsors, retailers, publicists and other commercial partners do not receive approval over independent editorial coverage unless the content is explicitly commissioned and disclosed as sponsored or branded content.

Leshai’s articles are not paid partnerships unless a paid partnership, sponsorship, affiliate relationship or other material connection is clearly disclosed in or near the relevant content. Free products, tickets, invitations or other support may also be disclosed when they could affect a reader’s understanding of the coverage.

Reviews and recommendations

Reviews and recommendations should reflect the writer’s genuine experience, research or clearly stated point of view. We do not promise positive coverage in exchange for access, payment, free products or invitations. Readers should treat recommendations as editorial opinion, not a guarantee that a product, service, book, film or experience will suit them.

Use of AI and production tools

Leshai may use software tools for transcription, copy organization, accessibility, research assistance or production tasks. A human writer or editor remains responsible for the published words, claims, links and final presentation. We do not knowingly publish unreviewed machine-generated copy as if it were reported human work.

Images, permissions and attribution

We aim to use images that we own, license, commission, receive permission to use or can otherwise use lawfully. We credit photographers, artists, publishers and other rights holders when required or appropriate. If you believe an image or other material has been used incorrectly, contact shayinthemedia@hotmail.com with the relevant page and your concern.

Privacy and sensitive information

We avoid publishing private personal information that is not relevant to a story. We take extra care with health, safety, identity, sexual violence, minors and other sensitive subjects. We do not publish allegations as established fact and will consider requests for privacy, safety and right of reply in context.

Updates and corrections

When we discover a material error, we correct it promptly and explain the correction when doing so would help readers understand what changed. Minor edits for spelling, grammar, clarity or broken links may be made without a correction note. See the Corrections page for the process and contact details.

Contact the editorial team
